These are very rough, and are fairly gray an dsubdued in color. Sapphires in the classic cornflower blue are crazy expensive and sold as jewelry stones. The last mage shows them with a U.S. penny for scale, but the color is VERY misleading - these are not that blue.

Note: Tumbling these will not work out well. The matrix the sapphire is in is extremely brittle, and it will just disintegrate. While corundums (the family of stones Sapphire is in) are pretty hard, the matrix they grow in is not.

Sapphire has been prized through the ages for it's deep blue color as a cut gemstone. In it's rough form, it can be somewhat blue, but is often more gray or greenish blue.  Magickally however, it holds the same energy!

Background: Sapphires, when cut and faceted to reveal a pure Sapphire, are a very hard stone. When cut, revealing a transparent, sparkling stone, they are extremely valuable and extremely hard, second only to diamonds. These are not the same at all. These are ROUGH stones. That means they are Sapphire, but they are contained within the rock and mineral that Sapphire grows in. This varies, and may impact the color and hardness of the stone a great deal. These ROUGH Sapphires are not particularly hard, and will fracture if subjected to a shock. The MOHS hardness scale, which is used to describe gemstones, does not reflect this difference. ROUGH Sapphire is not a MOHS hardness of 8.

To clear stones and crystals of energies and charge it with your intention:

Use sea salt - burying the stone in the salt over night
Put the stones into direct, full sunlight for a day or two
Use sage, Palo Santo or other ritual clearing smoke to clear the crystal
Use Reiki energy to clear and re-energize your crystal
