We have started to go out and hunt estate sales looking to find "new" glass ware for chalices, and this was a find! Black glasses are hard to find now, because modern black glass is coated instead of being solid black. That means when you etch it, the coating shreds and the result is pretty horrible. So we had to find vintage black glasses, made without coating, from solid black glass...and we did!

The Chalice is one of the iconic tools of the Witch's altar. It symbolizes the element of water.

This gorgeous Chalice is in classic black! We found these glasses at an estate sale recently. We could only get our hands on 6, so this is a limited edition. Once they are sold, we'll do our best to find more glasses, but there is no guarantee we will find the correct glasses again.

This limited design pentacle from my husband Marcel R. Dion, is etched into the glass, and then enamelled in metallic silver! This design was was created with the intention of becoming a cherished altar tool in traditional colors. The image of the bottom shows Mars' makers mark and the date in Roman numerals.

Glass is 7" tall, and 2.75" in diameter. It holds approximately 6 ounces of liquid when filled.

We don't know the source of these glasses, as they were purchased at an estate sale. We cleared them and left them to charge under the ful moon before we began work on them. This is a good idea any time you get tools from anywhere.

Note: While technically dishwasher safe, your new chalice will last longer and prevent additional etching from hard water and dishwasher runs if you hand wash. The enamel will eventually wear off in the dishwasher over time. For us, it took about a year of repeated washing, but it did eventually wear off a test glass we tried it on.
