Palo Santo is called Holy Wood in South America. It is so precious and valued, that you are not even allowed to harvest fallen wood without a special license! The trees are endangered, so are being managed by the governments of the places where it grows.
This Palo Santo has been harvested ethically from managed forests, where dead wood is gathered and cleaned for use as sacred smoke. The people who harvest it have a proper license from the government and work with the authorities to be stewards of the land and these sacred trees.
Palo Santo is used to burn and smoke, much like Sage is used here. You light the piece of wood (and it lights easily!), then blow it out, and it smokes. The smoke is a touch sweeter than Sage smoke, and it leaves space feeling clear and clean.
Palo Santo doesn't stay it for long, so if you are trying to clear a large space, you might want to work with a candle beside you to relight the stick periodically when it stops smoking.
This listing is for 2-3 sticks (depending on thickness) of Palo Santo wood.
